Visited Burns at Ellisland on his way to or from New Galloway. Burnsgave him a letter to take to a Dr. Blacklock which Heron failed todeliver. Burns referred to this in his 'Epistle to Dr. Blacklock'.
1793: author "Observations Made in a Journey Through the Western Countiesof
Scotland in the Autumn of 1792"
1797: became Robert Burn's first biographer. ('Memoirs of the Life of theLate Robert Burns - 1797.'
1798: at Kells; made $ contibrution to war with France.
Imprisioned in debtor's prison (Newgate jail). Became ill. Removed toSt. Pancreas Hospital
Died in St. Pancreas Fever Hospital, London, England; aged 42 years.
