1679 was outlawed by Prelatic Committee for not appearing before themwhen summoned. He was again called on Feb 18, 1680, before theJusticiary Court and not appearing, was sentenced to be executed whentaken, and his property confiscated to his
Majesty's (Charles II) use. He happened to be dead when this was issued.John M'KIE of Larg left no issue. His widow (Margaret HERON) afterwardsmarried James LIDDERDALE of St. Mary's Isle, parish of Kirkcudbright, andhad issue. (McKerlie, p409)

In 1705, Margaret HERON, daughter of Laird HERON was accused of having anillegitimate child in Edinburgh. She refused to appear in front of thechurch and left for Edinburgh. Subsequently, Margaret married John M'KIEof Larg, Minnigaffe, who died without issue. As widow of John M'KIE ofLarg, she married secondly, James LIDDERDALE, son of Thomas LIDDERDALE(xxxx-Feb 12, 1698). By her he had issue. (McKerlie)
