Of Bargaly. Was the eldest son of Andrew HERON (c1695).
In 1705, Margaret McHARG died giving birth to the illegitimate child ofAndrew HERON, Younger of Bargally. He denied fathership and left the area(to Edinburgh)
On July 7, 1708, Andrew HERON, Younger of Bargally again denied guiltwith Margaret McHARG deceased.
November 28, 1708, Andrew HERON, Younger of Bargally was accused offornication with two of his father's servants, Janet MAXWELL and JeanMURRAY.
Went to Edinburgh, where he married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir WilliamMAXWELL of Monreith without her father's consent, but was reconciled withhim, who left her 5,000 merks. She died of measles, while her husbandwas carrying on a law plea with her brother, Sir Alexander MAXWELL andcontracting much debt thereby. After her death, proceedings werestopped.
Andrew HERON would not settle to any profession but was very proficientin music, which may have been the cause of his wandering disposition.Without his father's knowledge, he started for Ireland in February 1730,on a visit to Sir Robert ADAIR. After a time, he wished to leave, whensomeone (Lady ADAIR) to prevent his leaving gave some opium to make himsleep over the time for starting, but by mistake too much, and he died.He died in 1730 and predeceased his father.
