Robert McMains was born in
Kentucky. The information I have is that he died there as well,
about 1798. His wife's name was Sarah (maiden name unknown). I
know of eight children born to them. Apparently, Robert
moved his family to Pennsylvania, as at least three of his
children were born there. The family returned to Kentucky before 1791.
Robert McMains represents the earliest
of the McMains ancestors that I know of currently. For this reason, I
have designated this generation as "Generation One".
