  HILLSBORO -- John Dwayne Wells, 69, of Hillsboro, formerly of Morrisonville, died at 6:07 p.m. Monday at Veterans' Medical Center, Danville.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Moffitt Funeral Home, Morrisonville. Burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery.
  Patton Memorial Home, Hillsboro, is in charge of arrangements.
  Surviving are five brothers, Dale and Tom, both of Morrisonville, Wilbur of St. Louis, Mo., Truman of Decatur and Donald of Arizona; and one sister, Mrs. Henry "Hank" (Bessye) Noyes of Hillsboro.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Edith Wells; step-son, Michael Milligan; step-daughter, Vickie Kabanek and her husband, Joe; grandchildren,
  Joseph Kabanek, Dawn Rose, and Jared Kabanek; as well as six great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Kabanek, Megan Rose, Kaelee Kabanek, Stephen Kabanek, Dallas Rose, and Rylan Kabanek. Wilbur was born January 23, 1926 in Morrisonville, IL to Reasoner and Lela Wells. Surviving a near fatal construction accident just days before he was scheduled to enter the military in World War II, Wil spent his working years in the oil business as a successful independent oilman in llinois managing world-wide investments in the wells he developed. Moving to the San Antonio area with Edith in 1994 to be near family, he continued his career but found much joy in his grandchildren and ever-growing family of great-grandchildren. He sang in a barbershop quartet in the the 40's and 50's, a talent which he brought to his family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren alike. Wilbur's story-telling talents and singing were legendary within the family. Friends and family alike enjoyed listening to Wil regale them with stories of "the olden days".Wil's last two years of life were spent living in New Forest Estates with Edith, where he continued his story-telling and gained new friends all of whom enjoyed his tales. Wilbur will be missed by family and friends. Visitation will be at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009, Schertz
  TX, from 5:30 to 7:00PM, Tuesday, September 16th 2014. Services follow at 1:00PM, Wednesday, September 17th 2014.

• Death*: 20 October 2009; Morrisonville, Christian Co., Illinois, USA; Funeral services for Thomas Paul "Tom" Wells, 81, of Morrisonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Perfetti Funeral Home, Morrisonville, the Rev. Jim Ferrill officiating. Burial will follow at Morrisonville Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721 of Morrisonville.
  
  Family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
  
  Mr. Wells, an Army veteran of the Korean War, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at his home.
  
  He was born April 15, 1928, at Morrisonville, son of the late Reasoner and Lela (Cook) Wells. He farmed and traveled the area selling produce. He was a member of the Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721 and St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in Springfield. He was an avid Cardinal fan.
  
  Mr. Wells married Ann Gallucci on April 28, 1956, at Chicago.
  
  He leaves two sons, Wes (wife Pam) Wells and Matt (wife Debbie) Wells of Morrisonville; five daughters, Theresa "Terry" (husband Tim) Blanchong of Toledo, OH, Martha (husband John) Sharp of Hillsboro, Pat (husband Jim) Planek of Sherwood, AR, Nancy (husband David) Peat of Paw Paw, and Angie (husband Liam) McDonnell of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
  
  Also surviving are three brothers, Wilbur (wife Edie) Wells of San Antonio, TX, Truman (wife Dorothy) Wells of Petersburg and Donald Wells of Morrisonville; and one sister, Bessie Noyes of Morrisonville.
  
  Preceding him in death were one son, William "Billy" Wells; and three brothers, James K. Wells, John D. Wells and Lawrence D. Wells.
