He is survived by his wife Bertha Wells of the home; two sons, Charles Wells of Malden, MO, and Thomas Wells of Memphis, TN; a daughter Mrs. Elda Swyres of Ellington, MO, a foster daughter, Mrs. Lois Roemig of St. Louis, MO; a brother Matthew L. Wells of Kensett; five sisters, Mrs. Annie Payne of Marmaduke, Mrs. Esther Livingston of Fresno, CA, Mrs. Inez Endicott of W. Palm Beach, FL, Mrs. Mae Morgan of Coulterville, IL, and Mrs. Grace Caradine of Searcy; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

  He was a retired glass worker for Harding Glass Co, and was a member of the City Heights Methodist Church, the Van Buren Masonic Lodge No. 6 and the Amrita Grotto.
  
  Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial was at Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
  
  Survivors include two daughters, Elsie and Violet; a son, John S. and a sister, Mrs. A. Duvall; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
