  She was born Feb. 24, 1917, in Bluffton to Daniel and Anna Sprenkle Nusbaum, who preceded her in death. Her husband of 44 years, Nelson E. "Pat" Wells, died Aug. 23, 1982.
  
  Mrs. Wells was a graduate of Bluffton High School. She had worked at Triplett Electric, Bluffton, before getting married. She and her husband farmed outside Bluffton until they moved to Wooster in 1959. She was primarily a homemaker and mother, but worked part-time as a baby sitter and at the Gift Corner, Wooster. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Wooster, she was a member of its Women's Circle, and served on several committees during the last 50 years.
  
  Survivors include two sons, Robert Wells, of Summerville, S.C., and Daniel Wells, of Portland, Ore.; seven grandchildren, John Ike, Patrick Ike, David Ike, Cindy Wells Wiktor, Cheryl Wells Patterson, Sarah Wells and Emily Wells; and seven great-grandchildren.
  
  She was preceded in death by a brother, Christian Nusbaum; a sister, Susan; and a daughter, Sara Wells Ike.
  
  Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Wooster. The Rev. Jeff Paschal will officiate. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
  
  Friends may call one hour prior to services Sunday at the church.

  Retired after 42 years, she worked as a secretary at Cooper Tire. She enjoyed antiquing, attending garage sales, sports of every kind, boating, skiing and spending time with her grandchildren. She had an incredible sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was overwhelmingly generous with her time and money, often helping people through hard times. She was a great listener who loved to sit with her children and grandchildren to just talk. She loved attending her grandchildren’s events and almost never missed a game or activity they were involved in. She was a woman of strong faith and spent a great deal of her time reading her Bible and listening to religious programs. She loved all animals, especially her dogs. She was a hard worker and felt her greatest accomplishment in life was raising four wonderful sons on her own. She was selfless and always put her family first. She loved reminiscing over her childhood memories at Indian Lake.

  Deceased are two brothers, Mike and infant Charles.
  
  She was a 1961 graduate of Spencerville High School. She worked in care of the elderly and was also at Roselawn Manor. She was a member of American Legion Post 191 Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 Auxiliary.

  Surviving are one son, John of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Patricia Faubel of Sarasota, Fla. and Linda Orender of Ashland; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
  Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church with pastor Sanford Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

  Freda Wells Bowman, 98, of Ashland, passed away Saturday morning, December 12, 2015, at The Good Shepherd in Ashland, Ohio. She was born February 19, 1917, in Ashland, to the late Thomas J. and Mary C. (Mohn) Wells, one of twelve children.
  
  Freda retired from A.L. Garber after 35 years of service. She loved her cats and was surrounded by her feline friends throughout her life. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, brought her much happiness.
  
  Freda is survived by a son, Monte Bowman of Polk, OH; three grandchildren, Melanie Heffelfinger of Perrysville, OH, Eddie Crossen of IN and Rick Crossen of GA; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son-in-law, Nylia and Dale Crossen; four brothers, Francis, James, Roy and Walter Wells; and seven sisters, Bessie Bryan, Minnie Harmon, Flossie Irene Stackhouse, Moscow Morr, Mary Martin, Rozella Graham and Gladys Blaisdel.
  
  A private funeral service will be observed. Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cat House Feline Sanctuary, 1130 W.   Bonnie was a member of the Savannah Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, baking cakes, traveling and taking cruises.
  
  
  
  She is survived by her children, Thomas (Michelle) Kithcart and LuAnn Kithcart both of Ashland; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six sisters, Kate Claypool, Eva Gregg, Goldie Bertsch, Shelia Keener, Sharon Dionne, and Sally Benner; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband who passed away of February 6, 2005, Dale Kithcart; a daughter, Diana Shireman; a brother, Thomas Wells; and a sister, Nancy Wells.
  
  
  
  Friends may call from 5-7pm on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Jack Sharp will be held at 11am on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Ashland County Memorial Park.
