  In June of 1917, Flavius enlisted in the Navy in World War I, and was discharged on August 2nd, 1918.
  
  At age 22, Flavius Elmer Wells, a lumberman, married 23 year old Doris Frances Kimball, a housekeeper born in Hanover, Maine. They married in Mechanic Falls, Maine, on February 16th, 1918. The ceremony was officiated by H. M. Purrington. It was the first marriage for both, and both were residents of Poland, Maine.
  
  In 1920 Flavius was a sawyer, a Mill Operator working in the Portable Mill industry, with residence at the Conant Lumber Camp located on Thompson Road in Chelsea, Kennebec County, Maine.
  
  In 1930 Flavius lived at 81 Hallie Road, Farmington, Franklin County, Maine.
  
  On July 26th, 1941, Flavius E. Wells of Roxbury, Maine, married Alice L. (Marston) Mawhinney of Mexico, Maine.
  
  On February 14th, 1943, Flavius E. Wells age 47, married Edna C. Pettigrew in Kittery, York County, Maine. Both were residents of Kittery. Edna worked with Flavius for many years managing their lumber business. Flavius resided in Kittery for 35 years and was a 50-year member of Naval Lodge, AF & AM of Kittery.
  
  Flavius E. Wells passed away on June 30, 1974.
  
  Survivors at the time of his death included his third wife and widow, Edna (Pettigrew) Wells; their two sons Owen W. Wells, and Wayne M. Wells; two daughters, Laura A. (Wells) McCann and Darlene L. (Wells) Hudson; and five grandchildren; his second wife Alice L. (Marston) Mahwhinney-Wells, as well as his first wife Doris F. (Kimball) Wells, and three sons from that marriage; Richard V. Wells, Philip D. Wells, and Raymond E. Wells.
  
  Memorial services were held July 2, 1974 at the Franklin G. Wilson Funeral Home, the Rev. William Baran, pastor of the Second Christian Congregational Church, conducted the services. Interment took place at the family lot in Orchard grove Cemetery.
