  "John Wells, respected pioneer resident, passed away Monday (10th) at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Weikart, of infirmities of age. Deceased was 88 years of age. Born in England, July 25, 1838, he came to America in 1885, settling at Butler, Pa. Thirteen years later he moved to Washingtonville where he had since made his home. His wife preceded him in death 21 years. Surviving are three sons, three daughters, 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral was held in the Weikart home Wednesday with burial in Oakland cemetery."
