    Death of Mrs. John Wells.

Mrs. Lena N. Wells, wife of Capt. John L. Wells, died at the family home in Bayou Sara, Saturday, Oct. 2, at one o'clock, aged 29 years, 8 months, 2 days. The funeral took place at three o'clock Sunday afternoone, the long procession escorting her body to its last resting place in Grace Cemetery.

Mrs. Wells had been very ill for a number of weeks from fever of a malignant malarial type, and the day before her death seemed so much better that hopes for her convalescence were felt, but a change for the worse came on that night. Besides her kind husband, Mrs. Wells leaves four little girls, her mother, Mrs. Ginn and one sister and brother to mourn her early death. She was a woman of talent and energy and made her pretty river-side home attractive and dainty by her taste and skill. Her mother, Mrs. Ginn, has undertaken the duty that has fallen from her hands, and with endeavor to make "home" for the bereaved husband and children. The sympathy of many friends is with them.
