Pleasant Jeptha is the last of Lucinda Webb Evans' children that we know much of anything about.  He was born on January 17, 1854 in Lamar County, Alabama.  His father died before he reached his second birthday.  His mother may have died soon afterwards.

Pleasant married Martha Nichols and together they had one child, Zula Clementine Evans.

On July 5, 1878, in the middle of the hot Alabama summer, Pleasant was working in the field one day when, all of a sudden, "he got too hot and died."  Probably heat exhaustion.  He was 24 years old.  He was buried in the Evans Family Cemetery.
