Fannie Belezonia Webb
Fannie Belezonia Webb Turman Wilson

Fannie Belezonia Webb and Thomas Milton Turner Fannie was one of the youngest children of John G. Webb.  She was born just after the Civil War ended, in 1865, in Alabama (probably Lamar County).  At the age of 17, she married Thomas Milton Turman.  He was two years her senior and since he was from the Sulligent area, they probably had known each other most of their lives.  They were married on June 28, 1882, in Sulligent, Lamar County, Alabama.

Together, she and Thomas had five children: all girls.  But a little less than nine years later, Thomas passed away.  Supposedly Thomas died when he was working on a job, but it seems as though he was buried in the Sandlin Cemetery, north of Sulligent.  Fannie was only 26 years old and had four daughters to raise.

Within three years, Fannie had made the decision to remarry.  This time it was to William Riley Wilson, five years her elder.  The family moved to Itawamba County in Mississippi and seems to have lived not too far from the town of Nettleton.  Together, they had eleven more children.  In 1900, the census found the family like this:

Some of Fannie's children, especially the older ones, moved to Texas in the early 1900's.  Fannie herself is listed in her father's will as living there in 1903, but we do not know for how long she was there.  Maude may have been the first to move after she married.  But one of her grandchildren remembers Fannie coming to visit once about 1923.  She said the one thing she remembers about Fannie was that she had false teeth and that surprised her because she had never seen that before.

Fannie passed away on May 13, 1927, near Nettleton, Itawamba County, Mississippi.  She was buried at Liberty Cemetery (#2), in Itawamba County.  William Riley Wilson lived for twenty more years, passing away on August 7, 1947, and being buried in Liberty Cemetery also.

Any additional information on Fannie or her children would be greatly appreciated (including photos!).
