Deed: Thomas Barnes 1678/9
To
all Christian Pople to whome these presents may come Greeting Know Ye that
I Thomas Barnes of Marlburrough in the Count of Middx in New Engl: husbandman
For and in Consideration of Twenty acres of Land more or less by Jonathan
Johnson purchased of the said Town of Marlburrough lying without the Cow
Common beyond the River Assabett bounded South Eastward with Said River
& every way else with Common Land which Said Twenty acres of Land are
now in my possession, made over unto me by Said Jonathan Johnson in way
of Exchange whom with I acknowledge my Selfe fully Satisfied Contented
and paid. Do by these presents give grant bargaine alienate & Confirme
for me the Said Thomas Barnes my heires Executors Administrators &
Assignes all my right Title and Interest in and unto fifteen acres of land
more or less, with a highway of four rods wide runing through the Land,
Lying on Marlburrow abovesaid, which are the Southerly halfe of the houselott,
granted unto the sd Jonathan Johnson by the said Towne, and by him Sold
unto me Some years ago, bounded Eastward with a brooke Southward and Westward
with Common Lands, Nothward wth the Northerly halfe of the houselott granted
by Said Towne unto Said Jonathan Johnson To Have & To Hold the Said
Fifteen acres of Land with all the Singular the appurtenances and proffitts
thereof, unto him the said Jonathan Johnson his heirs and Assignes for
ever to his and there use and uses as propper goods and Lands in a sure
estate of Inheritance without any Lett molestation or Expulsion by me the
Said Thomas Barnes my heirs Executors Administraors or Assignes or any
other person or persons acting by from or under me, or them or any of them
by reason of any Title had or grown before the date of these presents.
In Wittness hereof I the said Thomas Barnes have Hereunto put my hand and
Seal this Fifteenth day of Febru in the year of Christ one Thousand Six
hundred Seventy Eight
