- "MR. E. H. TREDGETT AND MISS C. M. BASS.
- On Wednesday pretty wedding was solemnized at the Parish Church, Thaxted, the Rev. J. A. Grant, officiating, Miss Constance Maud May Bass, the eldest surviving sister of Messrs. Frank and Edward Bass, of Daisy Green Farm, being married to Mr. Ernest Henry Tredgett, a son of the late Mr. John Tredgett, of the Claypits Farm. The bride, who was attired in a plum-coloured velvet costume, and hat to match, was given away by her eldest brother, Miss Dora Bass, her younger sister, acting as bridesmaid. Mr. Fuller Tredgett, a brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. The happy couple left for London during the afternoon for the honeymoon. They are sailing for Western Canada on the 18th inst. in the "Royal Edward" to take up their abode at Delisle, where the bridegroom has for some years successfully carried farming. The presents, numbering about 40, included some valuable gifts, testifying to the esteem in which the young couple are held by those who know them."
