This indenture made and entered into this twelfth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty six between Thomas Jackson of the County of Tallapoosa and State of Alabama [extra "of" removed] and G.A. McDaniel of the aforesaid Carroll County and State of Georgia of the other part witnesseth that the said Thos Jackson has and does for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said G.A. McDaniel at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said Thos Jackson has and does by these presents grant bargain and sell and convey unto the said G.A. McDaniel his heirs and assigns a certain tract or portion of land situate lying and being a part of lot of land known and distinguished by number 170 one hundred and seventy in the ninth district of the aforesaid Carroll County and State of Georgia bounds as follows to wit along the south half of the north half of said lot as aforesaid to have and to hold said tract or parcel of land containing fifty acres and one half of an acre more or less unto him the said G.A. McDaniel his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use benefits and behalf forever in fee simple and the said Thos Jackson for himself his heirs administrators and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title unto him the said G.A. McDaniel his heirs and assigns against the claims of themselves and against the claims of any and all other persons whatsoever claiming the same together with all the rights titles members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining thereto in witness whereof the said Thos Jackson hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this day and date above written
