William Holditch 1723
In the name of God Amen William Holditch now belonging to the Royal African Company ship the Dove Captain Roger Comings Commander mariner being in bodily health and of sound and disposing mind and memory and considering the perils and dangers of the sea and other uncertainties of this transitory life so for avoiding controversies after my decease make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say first I commend my soul to God that gave it and my body commit to the earth or sea as it shall please God to order and as for and concerning all my worldly estate I give bequeath and dispose thereof as followeth all and singular such wages sum and sums of money and tenements, goods, chattels and estates whatsoever as shall be in any ways due owing or belonging unto me at the time of my decease I do give devise and bequeath the same to my brothers Marion[?] and Nicholas Holditch to be equally divided betwixt them and do hereby nominate and appoint the said brother and Nicholas my executors this my last will and testament hereby revoking all forms and other wills testaments and deeds of gift by me at any time hereto for made and do ordain and ratify those present to stand and be for and as my last will and testament in witness thereof to this my said will I have set my hand the seventeenth day of October one thousand seven hundred and twenty three and in the ninth year of the reign of our majesty King George over Great Britain.
