Obituary of Eva Allen Carman

Eva Allen Carman, Sunday, September 16, 2002

Eva Allen Carman, 84, of Savannah died Monday, Sept. 16, at Hardin Home Nursing Home. She was born in Hardin County, daughter of the late Charlie Clyde and Zora Ponds Allen. She was united in marriage to Nat Brownlow Carman, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Carman taught school in Hardin County for over 40 years. She was a member of Eastern Star Savannah Lodge 371, Delta Kappa Gamma, past grand Chaplin Eastern Star for state of Tenn., member of the Retired Teachers' Association of Hardin County. She was also a member of Barnhill United Methodist Church. Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Shackelford Funeral Home in Savannah with James Beaty and Don Lee officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens. Mrs. Carman is survived by two sons, Charles Carman of Savannah and Butch Carman of Athens, Tenn.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
