James D. Stanfill Services for James Douglas "Jack" Stanfill, 73 will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at George A. Smith and Sons' South Chapel with the Rev. John Deal and Bently Rawdon officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Cemetery. Mr. Stanfill, a retired carpenter with Watlington Brothers Construction Co., died Monday at Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Hardin County, son of the late E. J. and Elsie Allen Stanfill, was educaten in Hardin County Schools, was an Air Force veteran of World War II, had lived in Madison County since 1946 and was a member of Bemis United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman. A son, Allen Harvey Stanfill, died in 1953. Mr. Stanfill was married October 16, 1938 to the former Willie Myrtle Harvey, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Judith Ann Rawdon of Cookeville; a son, David Douglas Stanfill of Jackson; a sister, Miss Blanche Stanfill of Nashville; two brothers, Allen Stanfill of Jackson and Martin Stanfill of Sardis; and two grandchildren, Shawn Rawdon and Shannon Rawdon, both of Cookville. Pallbearers will be Fernie Beard, Curtis Gowan, Phil Hakeem, Hoyle Harden, Allen Morris and Sam Watlington. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Young Sr., Omer Turner and Lester Wyatt.
