Obituary of Zula Mae Pafford


Zula Mae Reed Pafford

Lexington -- Services for Mrs. Zula Mae Pafford, 89, will be today at 3 p.m. at Reeds Chapel with Rev. Paul Phillips and Rev. Al Doyle officiating. Burial will be in the Lexington City Cemetery.

Mrs. Pafford died Wednesday morning at the Methodist Hospital of Lexington after an extended illness.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a licensed funeral home director and embalmer. She and her late husband, Royal Pafford, founded Parsons Mortuary, where she was still a co-owner. She was preceeded in death by her brother, Charlie Reed, founder of Reed's Chapel.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Frances Reed; a niece, Gail Cagle; a great niece, Kim Woods, and a great-great niece and nephew, Jessica and Charlie Woods all of Lexington.
