 In the name of God Amen, I Samuel Watson, of the State of South Carolina, and York District, being of Sound Mind and Memory (Blessed by God) do this First Day of March, In the year of our Lord, Eighteen Hundred and nine, make and publish this my Last Will and Testament, in the manner following, Viz : First, it is my will that all my Funeral expenses, and Lawful Debts to be paid out of my Personal Estate.  Secondly, I bequeath to my Beloved wife, Elizabeth Watson, her living in the House we now live in, with a Liberty of working a sufficient Quantity of the clear-land to raise a Sufficient Support for her and Family and Stock, during her widowhood.  For which terms I leave my wife my negro man, named Tom and my negro woman named Leethe to work for her; and two horses, of her own choosing, with the half of the farming utensils on the place, with two cows and calves and two dry cattle and what tame hogs there be and six head of sheep and the Household furniture, without mentioning any particulars, wholly, to be at my wife's Disposal, at what time she thinks proper, amongst our children.  Only what few Books there is, my Executors, is to divide among themselves and the rest of the children.--And if my wife, for reasons unknown, at present, Should choose to go and live with any of her children, It is my will that She take her Horse, Saddle, and Bridle, Bed and Furniture, and what of the things about the Dresser she may think fit.  And my Executors is to give my wife Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars, in Lieu of the above advantages she is entitled to, while she is on the place.  And I allow her to take one cow and calf with her----Thirdly, I Bequeath to my son-in-law John Eakin - Five Shillings Sterling ---Fourthly, I Bequeath to my son James, my watch----Fifthly I Bequeath to my son Robert Watson, my negro man, named Tom, at the death of his mother or at her removal off the place.  And also I leave to Son Robert my little negro Boy named Tomson, and I also leave to Son Robert the plantation I now live on, only the above allowances and liberties I have left to his mother, to continue as above mentioned.  And as the said plantation is part of three old plantations it is my will that it be surveyed and a plat of what there may be, and my Executors to make a Deed for the same and son Robert is to have the other half of the farming utensils on the place.  And likewisxe my two wagons to be kept on the plantation, betwixt him and his mother as their property--And my negro woman named Leethe, at the above terms I allow to be appraised and my son John to have Two Thirds of the appraisment and my son Samuel the other third.  I also leave my son, Samuel, my little negro boy named Lauson to be his property -- and my negro boy named Ben, I leave to my son Hugh, to be his property -- and my negro boy Isac, I leave to my son William, to be his perperty -- and my negro girl named Lindah, I leave to my son David to be his property -- I will that my Executors give to my son-in-law John Berry a note of one hundred dollars that I lent him -- I leave to Betsy McWhorter a negro child named Addaline and I Bequeath to each of my Grandsons Samuel Watson, son of James Watson, Samuel Watson son of John Watson, Samuel Watson son of David Watson, Samuel Watson son of John Berry, James Watson son of Samuel Watson, Sarah and Samuel Watson son and daughter of Hugh Watson and Samuel Watson son of Robert Watson Twenty Dollars each and likewise my wife Fifty Dollars to be paid out of my Personal Estate by my Executors --  and it is my will that whatever may be due upon Hills and Capt. Haynes Bond, at my death, be equally divided between my son-in-law John Berry and my seven sons, and each of them to collect their own part, if they can get it without sueing, and at their paying the whole my Executors is to make a Title, as my Bond mentions, and lift it -- and if there be any of my personal Estate remaining, I allow it to be equally divided between my wife, Hugh, William and Robert Watson -- And Lastly I do hereby make and ordain my sons John and Samuel Watson my only and Sole Executors of this my last will and Testaments, Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament.  In Witness whereof I the said Samuel Watson have herewith Set my Hand and Seal, the day and the year first above written--Signed and Sealed and Delivered as my Last Will and Testament.
