John Wood (1770-1864) was the son of immigrants, Isaac and Rachel Ramey Wood. He was perhaps born in Tygart Valley, W.Va. He married Elizabeth Harper in 1793. He married (2) Mary "Polly" Hornbeck, daughter of Benjamin and Lydia Currence Hornbeck. He had sixteen children. Family moved to Vermillion Co., Illinois in 1844. This day book or account book records work done to people and how much charged.
