Private inurnment will be at Turlock Memorial Park. Allen Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Biography

Rhoda Emeline Stewart was the daughter of William Pembleton Stewart, Jr. and Caroline Minerva Devasier. She was first married to James Gilbert on March 5, 1878 in Giles, Tennessee. James' first wife, Mary Elizabeth Goates Gilbert, had died on 11/18/1875 giving birth to their third child, James Phillip Gilbert. Mary's husband, James Gilbert, remarried on March 5, 1878 in Giles, Tennessee to Rhoda Emeline Stewart. They had eleven children. After James Gilbert died on May 7, 1912 Rhoda remarried on April 3, 1903 in Utah to John Henry Houghton.

Family records indicate that her Father was born in Hardeman, Tennessee and her Mother was born in Giles, Tennessee.
