Thomas Jex Houghton Born October 7, 1953, in Orem, Utah. Son of Paul and Mildred Houghton.

Passed away August 29, 2009, surrounded by family, due to a lung disease (UIP). Always a loving family man, a great husband, father, and grandfather. Tom will be missed, loved, and remembered by many, especially his buddy Johnathan.

Always effective and efficient he graduated from "the only real school in Utah," the U of U, with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. Gifted with an ability for numbers Tom was always up for a race with a calculator. He excelled in refining, designing, and construction management. He was always respected by his employees and community for his strong ethics and compassionate nature.

Preceded in death by his father Paul Houghton and son T.J. Houghton. He leaves behind a mother, Mildred (Bob), wife Barbara, two brothers, Paul (Carol) and John (Debbie), one sister, Renee (Jim), two sons, Ben (Stephanie) and Matt (Mandy), four grandchildren and a fifth due in April. Also many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Funeral services will be held 11a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call Wed. from 6-8 p.m. and Thurs. 9:45- 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.1
