The name of William Dodge appears in several legal records with the name of John Houghton. For instance, at a session of the Marlboro section of the probate court for Windham Co. Holdern Jan. 29, 1788, Marlboro, presence of Judge Micajah Townsend, an inventory of the estate of one William Houghton, nephew of John Houghton, son of his brother David.2,4
