SEMINOLE - Services for John W. Houghton, 63, of Seminole were to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at South Seminole Baptist Church with the Rev. John Ludat officiating. Committal services to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Fairfield, Maine. Mr. Houghton died Monday at Memorial Hospital in Seminole.
He was bom Dec. 21, 1919, In Fort Fairfield. He was married to Mertel E. Medina on June 26, 1944, in Kennebunk Port. Maine. Mr. Houghton was a lifelong member of Onah Temple of the Shrine In Bangor, Maine. He was a charter member of Fort Kent Lion's Club and a former King Lion. He was employed at Ocho Gin Company Farms in Seminole. Survivors other than his wife include three daughters, Nancy Olderahaw of Hampton Highland, Maine, Andrea Lewis of Montpelier. Vt., and Judith Houghton of Portland. Maine; two sisters. Mary Chaney and Frances Whited, both of Fort Fairfield; one brother. Tom Houghton of Fort Fairfield; and seven grandchildren.

The body of Mrs. Mary Ann Houghton, 92, widow of Benjamin W. Houghton, who died at Williamstown, was brought to Greenfield for burial yesterday. The interment was at the Green River cemetery and Rev. John B. Whiteman officiated. Mrs. Houghton was a former resident of this town but made her home in Williamstown for the past few years.
