Bangor, ME, USA, LIVERMORE FALLS - John C. Houghton. 67, died Jan. 23 at his home.
He was bom Feb. 6. 1904, in Bolton, England, the son of John C. and Annie Grey Houghton. He moved to Houlton as a child and received his education there. He took voice lessons in England and New York. He moved again to Livermore Falls in 1932 where he was employed by the International Paper Co., retiring in 1969 as a paper inspector. He was a member of Oriental Star Masonic Lodge and the Quarter-Century Society of the International Paper Co. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and their choir. He is survived by his widow, Paula Briggs Houghton of Livermore Falls; one son, John C. Houghton Jr. of Sterling Heights, Mich.: one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Furbush of Portland; five grandchildren. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Receiving Vault for spring burial.

She was bom Nov. 8. 1874, in Roque Bluffs, the daughter oí Elisha and Martha Schopp«. She had lived in Presque Isle for the past IS year«.
She is survived by one (laughter. Miss Delia Houghton oí Presque Isle.
Friends may call at the Graves funeral home Tuesday from 7 to" 9 p. m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of the Graves funeral home Wednesday at 3:30 p. ro. with Rev. Thomas J. W. Cornish officiating.
Burial will be in Lubec.

He worked at the Bath Iron works ship yard in WWI. In the Depression he worked in many places but he was a carpenter. He built his house on land his father-in -law deeded to his wife Bertha Viola (Hodgkin) Houghton He built it with the assistance of his father-in-law Walter Cory Hodgkin who was a cabinet maker in Portland ME before moving to family land in Lewiston. He worked at the Bath Iron works ship yard in WWI. He had flat feet and could not go into the army.

! LEE— Vinal A. Houghton, 67, died at his home here Monday after a short illness.
He was born here Oct. 5, 1900, the son of Everett and| Grace (Corbett) Houghton.
Houghton was a well-knownl lumberman, owning and operating the Houghton Cedar Products Mill here for the past II years. He was a former selectman here and served as member of the state legislati for several terms.
Surviving are his wife, Zom (McLean) Houghton of Lee; oni sister, Mrs. Mildred Lambo) of Westbrook; several niece; and nephews.
Funeral services will be hell Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Lei Baptist Church with the Rev] Otto Palmer officiating.
Burial will be in the Woodi awn Cemetery this spring. Friends may call at the Barton Funeral Home in Lincoln
