Miss Lucy E. Houghton

Amboy, Ill., Aug. 2--Miss Lucy Emma Houghton, who inherited most of the $1,000,000 estate of a Wisconsisn bachelor thirteen years ago, died today in a hospital at the age of 82. She had been ill five years.
Miss Houghton was named legatee in the will of Wesley H. Wiley, a second cousin, who died in 1940 at the age of 81. The will was contested by Mr. Wiley's nieces and an out-of-court settlement was made. Miss Houghton was said to have received $750,000.⁴
