are shown below by semester and course. My student ratings place me well above the average of

ObituarySep 11, 2007Corvallis, Benton Co., OR, USA, Bonnie Houghton

Nov. 3, 1960 — Aug. 7, 2007

Bonnie Houghton, 46, of Lake Oswego passed away Aug. 7 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind countless friends and family who shared her deep warmth, generosity and love.
Bonnie was born Nov. 3, 1960, and grew up in Alsea, a small logging community west of Corvallis. She attended Alsea schools and then Oregon State University, graduating with a B.S. Ed. degree in 1983. She went on to get her master’s degree from OSU in 1988. She taught business at Gladstone High School from 1983 to 1990. After the birth of her third child she became a full time homemaker and mom. She provided day care to her three boys and other children, and was very active as a volunteer at Westridge Elementary School including serving as the PTSO president. She also worked as a volunteer for the Crisis Pregnancy Center and taught “Love and Logic” parenting classes. In her last five years, Bonnie worked part-time at Abundant Living Nutrition, a health supplement store in Clackamas. Bonnie had a huge heart for God and was a very active member of Rolling Hills Community Church.

Bonnie most enjoyed sharing life with her family and many friends. She loved to travel to San Diego at least once a year to visit her brother’s family. She was a wonderful mother through and through, not only to her three boys, but to many others as well. Bonnie loved all her “Kids.” She had a special gift of having a love that was both unconditional and all-inclusive.

Her survivors include her husband of 24 years, Tom, and three boys, Jared, 22; Kyle, 20; and Curtis, 17. She is also survived by her father, Gail, and her brothers, Chuck, Jim, Dennis and John. She was preceded in death by her mom, Dorothy, brother, Tom, and a sister, Kelly.

Bonnie will be remembered as a very loving and generous person. We wish to thank all of our friends and family who provided tremendous love and support through her struggle.

A memorial service was Aug. 11 at Rolling Hills Church. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Alsea Cemetery.2
