Enid M. ‘Kim’ Dobbins April 1, 2009

ALEXANDRIA BAY — Enid M. "Kim" Dobbins, 66, Route 26, died April 1, 2009 at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center after being stricken earlier while traveling. Funeral services were held April 6 in Alexandria Bay.

She was a teacher at Alexandria Central School, retiring in 1999. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling and regularly attended her grandson’s baseball and football games in Rome. She was a devoted Rome Catholic baseball/football fan, a member of the New York State Retired Teachers’ Association, the Alexandria Bay Historical Society and Alexandria Bay United Methodist Church.

Born Sept. 24, 1942, in Lowville, daughter of Everette and Leta Mae Curtis Harris, she was a graduate of Copenhagen Central School. She attended SUNY Brockport as a physical education major, and later received a master’s degree in history and elementary education from SUNY Potsdam. She married Clifford "Kippy" Dobbins on May 25, 1990, in Alexandria Bay. A previous marriage to Dale L. Houghton ended in divorce.

Surviving besides her husband are a daughter and her husband, Amy and Bennett A. Quigley, Karlen Road, Rome; one grandchild, Bennett E. Quigley, Karlen Road, Rome; two step daughters and a step son-in-law, Tracy and Jeff Parzych, North Syracuse, and Tori Aznoe, Alexandria Bay; four brothers: Leon, Rush; John, Florence, Ala; George, Copenhagen; and Everette Jr., Ivyland, Pa; and five step grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rome Catholic Athletic Department.¹
