BELLINGHAM - Catherine F. "Kay" (Meagher) Houghton, 54, of 113 Twinbrook, died Friday in her home.

She leaves a son, Kenneth M. Houghton of Barre; five daughters, Laura M. Hutt of Franklin, Amy B. Houghton and Erin E. Houghton, both of Bellingham, Courtney B. Corneau of Hudson, N.H., and Lynne M. Rossi of Worcester; her mother, Bridget (Murphy) Meagher of Natick; a sister, Maureen Tocci of Mount Laurel, N.J; and 11 grandchildren. She was born in Portland, Maine, a daughter of the late Timothy Meagher, and had lived in Hudson prior to moving to Bellingham four years ago.

Mrs. Houghton was a licensed practical nurse and had worked at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick.

She was a graduate of Natick High School and the former Westboro State Hospital School of Nursing.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 488 Boston Post Road, Marlboro, 01752.

He married Barbara Jean (Larimore) Houghton on Sept. 28, 1957, in Fort Wayne, and she preceded him in death April 16, 2012. He worked as the Business Manager for Don Ayers Pontiac in Fort Wayne for 17 years. He was a member of the Auburn Nazarene Church, Church of God in Fort Wayne and owned the Little Hitching Post along with his wife for 19 years. He and his wife were also the owners of Mr. JJ which was the Indianapolis Colts Mascot. Surviving are his son, David (Cherie) Houghton II of Lima, Ohio; daughters, Cindy (Gary) Cooper of Cohutta, Ga. and Janice Houghton of Indianapolis; grandson, Trace Houghton; sister, Nanci (Raymond) Carnahan of Fort Wayne; and sister-in-law, Betty Houghton of Auburn. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, David Paul Houghton, Jr; a brother, James Douglas Houghton; and a sister, Miriam Dawn Houghton. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville, with calling from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. prior to service. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn.4

He worked as a tool & die maker for General Electric for 40 years. He was a member of Auburn Presbyterian Church, the church choir, Smock Senior Ministries, was a former elder of the church, was a member of GE Apprentice Alumni, GE Retirees Club, and the Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and had a passion for photography. Since his retirement, he enjoyed working at the "Friends" table at the church. Surviving are his wife, Betty Houghton of Auburn; son, Timothy Houghton of South Bend; daughters, JoLynn (Jim) Conley of Waterloo and Heather Houghton of Auburn; two grandsons, Travis and Tyson Conley; brother, David (Barb) Houghton of Fort Wayne; and sister, Nanci (Raymond) Carnahan of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam Dawn Houghton, in 1934. Service is 11 a.m. Friday, with calling one hour prior, at Auburn Presbyterian Church, 111 W. 12th Street, Auburn. Pastor Lyle Ewing and Pastor Bill Haworth officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn.
