BiographyJanet Jones: Family legend has that he was also a Canadian Mountie who helped with the capture of a notorious Chicago gangster. He then moved to LA where he served as a driver or bodyguard to film star Mary Pickford. He died circa 1935 in LA and both my Mother and her cousin remember being told she sang at the funeral. They also remember photos of an elaborate funeral.

My mother believes he had a son named Roy who was in the oil industry and a grandson who was a test pilot for Boeing.

My mother remembers hearing a tale that he helped with the capture of a bootlegging gangster in Chicago. This would be during Prohibition but I have nothing to document her claims.
James died in 1935 in LA. Selina (nee' Nygard) and their son Roy remained in LA. Selina died in 1960 (buried in Forest Hills Glendale) and Roy in 1965. Voter registration rolls indicate that a Sigrid Houghton lived with them ...possibly Roy's wife?????

Success!! I have just confirmed relation with the Fitzsimmons! My grandfather recognized everyone of James W. Houghton's children and was very happy to hear that some lineage had been uncovered. I can not express my gratitude for your assistance.

Oct 9:

I apologize for such a long gap in our communication but I have recently been able to talk with my grandfather in person. We had a great time catching up with each other and he was very pleased with our progress in his lineage. As for the answers to the questions recently asked, he thought he was Irish because of passed down information. He believed Margaret's name was Bohannan because that was what he knew her as when he was growing up. As for James, he knows little of him but he said that both James W. and Margaret met in the same complex that is on Paschall Ave. or St. If you have any other questions I could knock em out by tomorrow around 2 P.M.

Also I failed in telling you that my grandmother, Maria Muniz, had three previous marriages before my grandfather. She had Ramon and Miguel with a man under the name of Waters.
