Mr. Houghton, 34, is known as Ted. He was until last year the director of program and housing placement at the New York City Department of Homeless Services and is now a consultant on government funding to nonprofit organizations. His previous marriage ended in divorce.

The bridegroom's father retired as the president of the Chevron Corporation's information-technology subsidiary in San Ramon, Calif.

HOFFMAN, CHARLES HENRY, JR. Long time Portland resident Charles H. Hoffman Jr. passed away Aug. 25, 2004, from natural causes. A memorial service is planned for a later date. Charles was born on Sept. 24, 1914, in Pittsburgh, PA. After graduating from Carnegie Tech, he accepted a position with the Boeing Company as an aeronautical engineer. He later went to work for the Link-Belt Co. as a sales engineer and worked there until his retirement. In 1948, he moved his family to Portland where they lived until his retirement. He and his wife Dorcas then moved to Bend. They both enjoyed many years of retirement traveling the United States, Canada, and Mexico. They also spent many summers fishing in Brookings and the central Oregon lakes. An avid woodworker, Mr. Hoffman spent many hours in his shop building wooden toys and furniture for many charities and for his 17 grandchildren. In later years they moved to Eugene for health reasons and to be closer to family. Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorcas; their children, Peggy Stewart, Nancy Wollmuth, Charles H. Hoffman III, Sally Goodale, Bill Hoffman and Mary Laughary and their spouses, Greg, Marvin, Judy, Scott, Jill and Kevin. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Dorcas S. Hoffman of Springfield died Sept. 6 of age-related causes. She was 87.

Dorcas was born May 4, 1917, in Tacoma to Clyde and Frances Sanford. She married Charles Henry Hoffman Jr. on Sept. 24, 1938, in Seattle. He died Aug. 25, 2004.

She graduated from high school and worked in bookkeeping and clerical positions. She also had lived in Portland and Bend. She belonged to the Order of Amaranth.

Survivors include four daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Stewart and Mary Loughary, both of Eugene, Nancy Wollmuth of Beaverton, and Sally Goodale of Cornelius; two sons, William "Bill" of Eugene and Charles III of Aloha; 17 grandchildren and 22 great- grandchildren.

Rest-Haven Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene was in charge of arrangements.
