Opal Marie Houghton

Opal Marie Houghton, 84, of Little Birch passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Braxton Memorial Hospital, Gassaway.

She was born October 12, 1929, in Nicholas County, WV to the late Corley & Maggie Mullins Crites. Also preceding her in death is her husband, James Houghton, and son, Larry James Houghton.

Opal is survived by her sons; Leonard Wayne Houghton of Ak, Dana Earl Houghton of Flatwoods, Gary Houghton (Peggy) of Tesla, daughters; Sharon Kay Long (Rodney) of Garrettstown, WV, Theresa Lynn Murphy (Mark) of Little Birch, brother; Luther Crites of Ohio,and several grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton with the Rev. Tom Propst officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Hookersville, WV. Friends may call Tuesday June 10, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Larry James Houghton, 55, of Little Birch passed away on February 1, 2014 at Summersville Regional Medical Center, Summersville.

He was born on July 23, 1958 to Opal Crites Houghton and the late James Houghton.

Larry was a shipping operator for Williams Wood Works.

He was preceded in death by his father,

Larry is survived by his brothers Gary Houghton (Peggy) of Tesla, Dana Houghton of Flatwoods, Leonard Wayne Houghton of AK, sisters, Sherry Long (Rodney) of Garrettstown,WV, Theresa Murphy (Mark) of Little Birch, 8 nieces and 1 nephew.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday February 6, 2014 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Propst officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Cemetery, Hookersville, WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
