Eleanor B. (Healy) Houghton, 92, of Carver, passed away at home with her daughter on March 22, 2018. Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth W. Houghton, having shared 60 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Linda Sue Houghton of Carver, formerly of Hanover. Born in Oxford, December 10, 1925, the only child of the late Maurice F. and M. Charlotte (Berggren) Healy, Eleanor graduated from Oxford High School and continued her education at K. Gibbs Business School in Boston. Prior to moving to Carver in 1994, they lived in Hanover for over 30 years. Mrs. Houghton worked for the Town of Hanover for 19 years. She was Assistant Town Treasurer and retired in 1986. She was a member of the Plymouth County Retirement Association. She enjoyed traveling in their Winnebago with her family and many vacations in Hawaii. She also enjoyed decorating, designing the build of their home, holiday celebrations and having pool parties. She had a lifelong passion for Scottish Terriers. A private funeral was held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, marking Ellie and Kens 70th anniversary. Officiating the service was Pastor Paul Lantz of the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Hanover. Arrangements were by the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
