Biography

Jennings Gibson was born to John C. Gibson and Rachel Ridge Gibson in Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. The family moved to Westfield, Bureau, Illinois in 1855. It appears that by 1870, most of the family had then moved to Cherokee Co., Kansas except for Jennings and William, who stayed a bit longer, but appeared in Cherokee by the 1880 census. Jennings was married to Rosella 'Stella' Jane Lydick and they had a son Edgar Gibson, who then moved to Missouri, California and on to Texas where his mother lived. Jennings Gibson clerked in a store in Westfield, Bureau Co., Illinois in 1870 before moving to Cherokee County, Kansas by 1880. He was then a clerk in the family store in Cherokee County.

She was born Jan. 1. 1943. in Burley, the daughter of Cameron and Dorothy Elizabeth Houghton Carlin. She attended schools in Burley until moving to Salinas. Calif., where she graduated from high school. Kathleen married Arlin Weikum on Oct. 1. 1961, in Monterey. Calif. She worked at St. John's Hospital in Port Hueneme. Calif., for many years, until her illness made it impossible for her to continue working She was a member of the LDS Church. Kathleen enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking and spending time with her family Survivors include three sons. Kevin Weikum, Shawn Weikum, and Eric Weikum; a daughter, Lisa Weikum all of El Cajon, Calif ; her mother, Dorothy Ford of Salinas, Calif; a brother, Allen Ford of Salinas, Calif; her beloved aunt. Trelma Hale of Pocatello and two grandchildren, Joseph Weikum and Amber Weikum, both of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her father. Cameron Carlin; stepfather, Francis Ford; uncle. Robert Houghton; grandmother, Mary Houghton, and a sister, Charlene Darley
