This Park was actually in New York although by name it might seem Vermont. Although any old records are lacking it does say near new power station which was built about one mile west of White Creek,NY.

During 1900, in a effort to stimulate summer pleasure riding on the road, the Bennington and Hoosick Valley Railroad Company opened an Amusement Park, Battlefield Park, near the new power station.

The Park was located on part of the main battlefield of the Revolutionary War Battle of Bennington. (August 6, 1777) The resort itself was not too elaborate, consisting of only two or three acres of lawn, with trees, flower beds and a fountain, swings, seats, and a platform for band concerts.

Reached by a bridge across the Walloomsac River was a grove with benches and tables for picnic parties. Later, a dancing pavilion was erected and for at least two seasons vaudeville shows were offered. They were discontinued because of their failure to attract the anticipated crowds.
