NEWPORT NEWS - Kathryne Sadie Acree, 92, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004. A native of Philadelphia, she had been a Peninsula resident since 1939. She had worked as a blueprint copier at the Newport News Shipyard. Preceded in death by her husband Linwood Acree, survivors include her daughters, Kathryne Lamm of Newport News and Sadie Jean Buehler of Las Vegas; her son, Herman Bodine Doughty of California; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, in Peninsula Memorial Park by the Rev. Frank Earwood. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. tonight at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sachleben
Mrs. Sarah Dains Sachleben, 73, of 246 Powhatan Parkway, Hampton, died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday in Newport Nursing Home, Newport News, after a long illness.
She was a native of Philadelphia, Pa., and had lived in Hampton 35 years. She was the widow of Richard Nelson Sachleben, who died last Nov. 11. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Newport News.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Katheryn [sic] Acree of Gloucester Point; a son, Carhles[sic] B. Dains of Pittman, N.J.; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2p.m. Saturday in Peninsula Memorial Park with the Rev. Donald L. Crytzer, pastor of Hampton Christian Church, officiating.
The family will be at the home of Mrs. Joel N. Goodwin, 102 Waltham St., Hampton.
The body is at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
