MELVIN R. HARRIS, 72, of Millville, died Wednesday in the South Jersey Hospital System, Millville Division.
Prior to his retirement 10 years ago, Mr. Harris was employed with Airwork Corp. in Millville for 34 years.
Born in Cedarville, he lived at his Millville address for eight years and had formerly resided there and in Cedarville.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor (Lacy); two daughter, Karen G. Kolva of Millville and Claire J. Millard of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of the Nazarene, Hopewell Township, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedarville.
Arrangements are by the Padgett Funeral Home, Cedarville.

Bank of Elmer Vice President and Upper Deerfield Branch Manager, Michael Harris, age 49 of Hopewell Township, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Emergency Room of South Jersey Regional Medical Center after being stricken at his residence.
Mike was born in Bridgeton on July 15, 1959 and was the son of RoseMarie Lombardo Harris and the late Kenneth W. Harris, Sr. He had lived in Hopewell Township for 13 years and prior to that was a lifetime resident of Cedarville.
Mr. Harris's career in banking included his employment with the Bank of Elmer for the past three years and Susquehanna Bank, Minotola Bank and United Jersey Bank previous to that.
Active in his community, he attended St. Teresa of Avila Church in Bridgeton, was a member of the Bridgeton Area Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Bridgeton Jaycees. For several years he umpired for the Lawrence Township and West Cumberland Little Leagues.
In addition to his mother who resides in Hopewell Township, he is survived by a brother, Kenneth W. Harris, Jr. and his wife Mary of Deerfield Township; two nephews, Kenneth W. Harris, III of Hertford, NC and Charles Christopher Camac of Franklinville; a niece, Amanda Harris of Hampton, VA; aunt and uncle, Barbara and Raymond Dagostino of Upper Deerfield Township; aunts, Mary Jane Oliva of Vineland and Elma Lombardo of Millville along with many cousins.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday morning, February 12th at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 46 Central Avenue, Bridgeton.
Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville.
Friends will be received at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

RALPH M. HARRIS, 88, of RD 1, Beebe Run Road died Saturday evening the Bridgeton Nursing Center, where he had been a patient the past three months. He had been in failing health the past four years and seriously ill the past three months.
Born in Greenwich, the son of the late J. Walter and Laura Mixner Harris. He had resided at the Beebe Run Road address for 20 years. He had been employed by Seabrook farms, retiring in 1960. Prior to that he had operated a farm in Deerfield.
Surviving are two sons, Donald G. Harris of Rural Retreat, VA. and Ralph C. Harris of El Paso, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Millie) Ashbridge of Bridgeton and Ruth Duffy of Los Gatos, Calif.; a brother, George Harris of Greenwich; a sister, Mrs. David (Frances) Glaspey of Greenwich; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday the the Rev. David Laubach, pastor of the Cohansey Baptist Church, from the Russell C. Sheppard Funeral Home, 40 East Ave. Interment will be made in the Deerfield Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday one hour prior to the services.
