Note | Notes made by RTH 23 Feb 2008. Research on Benjamin Franklin Howey seems to be the key to determining the origins of Robert Howey, Quaker, of Southampton, Burlington Co., New Jersey, his great-grandfather. Benjamin was born in Pleasant Meadows, on the land originally purchased by Robert in 1773. Having lived and worked in Belvidere, Warren County, location of land purchased by a Robert Howey in 1750. Thirdly, Benjamin's widow, Martha Evans died in their home in Vincentown, Burlington Co. Is it mere coincidence that B. F. Howey has direct ties to all three locations in which his great-grandfather Robert had ties? Wife Martha was from Delaware Water Gap which may explain the connection to that area. | |
