In the name of God, Amen. I, Joseph Howey, Sen'r of Hardin County and state of Kentucky, being weak and infirm, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to Almighty God and calling to mind the uncertainty of life, knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, do make this my last Will and Testiment in the following manner viz. I commend my soul to Almighty God, who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors, hereafter to be named and as to such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with I will devise and bequeath in the following manner, viz. Just debts are to be fully and legally paid..
I bequeth to my loving wife, Lydia Howey, all my movebel Estate during her life and after her deth it is to bee, if any remains, divided equally among my children to wit; Robert, Elizabeth, Joseph, Margret, Lydia, Moses, Aron & James, and I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife and my son, James Howey executors of this my last will and testement and I do hereby ...them to execute the same and every part thereof according to the true intent mening of the same and I do hereby revoke and make null and void all by me here to fore made ratifing and confirming this and no other as my last will and testiment in witness where of I have set my hand and afixed my seal this 5 day of january, 1821.

The within instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and testament of Joseph HOWEY and was produced in court and proven by the oaths of John McMahan and Thomas Peters, two subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to record. Whereupon I have truly recorded the same in my office.

JAMES C. HOWEY
James C. Howey, 65, of Toms River, died January 19 at home. He was employed as a bus driver for Murphy Bus Company for the last two years. Prior to that, he was a manager for Sherwin Williams from 1964 to 1987. Then he was the director of the Star Tech Institute in Ocean Township from 1987 to 1990, which then relocated to Lakewood as the Harrison Career Institute. He served as the director there from 1990 to 2005. Mr. Howey was a United States Air Force veteran, stationed in Germany from 1960 to 1964 and in New Mexico. He was an avid NY Giants fan and enjoyed playing poker. Born in Elizabethtown, KY, he lived in Long Branch for most of his life, then in Ocean Township before moving to Toms River two years ago.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Buck, Jack, Bill, Stan and Bob. Surviving are his nephews, Thomas C. Howey and his wife, Beverly A., of Wall, Stephen Howey and his wife, Eileen, of Estero, Fl. and Rick Howey and his wife, Kelly, of Point Pleasant, his girlfriend, Edna Schneider and her daughter, Jacie Schneider, of New York; and his grandnieces and nephews, Alexa, Cailin, Amber, Kyle, Danielle, Tyler, Jarrett and Dylan, and many friends.
