I, Joseph Howey, Sen'r of Hardin County and state of Kentucky, being weak and infirm, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to Almighty God and calling to mind the uncertainty of life, knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, do make this my last Will and Testiment in the following manner viz. I commend my soul to Almighty God, who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors, hereafter to be named and as to such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with I will devise and bequeath in the following manner, viz. Just debts are to be fully and legally paid..
    I bequeth to my loving wife, Lydia Howey, all my movebel Estate during her life and after her deth it is to bee, if any remains, divided equally among my children to wit; Robert, Elizabeth, Joseph, Margret, Lydia, Moses, Aron & James, and I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife and my son, James Howey executors of this my last will and testement and I do hereby ...them to execute the same and every part thereof according to the true intent mening of the same and I do hereby revoke and make null and void all by me here to fore made ratifing and confirming this and no other as my last will and testiment in witness where of I have set my hand and afixed my seal this 5 day of january, 1821.

Robert Howey of Shemoken Twp., Northumberland Co., PA to Robert Butts, Esq. of Northampton Co., PA. Land of Abraham Howey, late od Sussex Co., NJ willed land to his son Jesse Howey. Jesse died without issue. Joseph Howey, was the brother and heir-at-law to Jesse. Jesse was entitled to 1/3 of the 150 acres. The aforesaid Robert Howey was the only son and heir-at-law of Joseph Howey, deceased. Sold for 100 dollars 50 acres in Oxford, Sussex which borders the heirs of Morrison Robeson decd., heirs of Joseph Mackey decd., heirs of Peter Shoemaker decd., heirs of Thomas Paul decd. Signed and sealed Robert Howey. Witnessed by Christopher Witte (or Wible) and James VanKirk, unknown repository.
