    Frances E. Williams, (nee Turner), aged 85, of Alloway Township, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County, in Mannington.

    Born in Stow Creek, she was the daughter of the late Edmund H. and Phebe L. (Griffith) Turner.

    Mrs. Williams was a homemaker, living in Salem County most of her life. She loved to travel and was an avid collector of knickknacks. Above all, she loved her family and was proud of her children, her grandchildren, and her great-granddaughter.

    Mrs. Williams is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert S. and Sharon L. Williams, of Bridgeton; her daughters and sons-in-law, Carole N. and Charles Knight, of Florrisant, Mo., Paulette D. and Nicholas Coppola, of Belleville, N.J., and Valerie A. and David Henderson, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; her grandchildren, Laura Knight and Eric Knight, of Florrisant, Mo., Renee Coppola and Coletta Coppola, of Belleville, N.J., Nicole and Patrick Day, of Calif., Robert L. and Michelle Williams, of Alloway Township, Allison Williams, of Bridgeton, N.J., and Logan Henderson, Olivia Henderson, and Clara Henderson, of Egg Harbor Township; and her great-granddaughter, Samantha Williams, of Alloway Township.

    She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Lester S. Williams, in March of 2002.

    home Sunday morning [June 26] from complications. Mr. Turnerwas born 71
    years ago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Turner.
    He married first Miss Fannie Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin I.
    Harris. The second wife was Miss Hannah Elwell, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs.
    Enoch Elwell. The wife of the thrid marriage who was Miss Ollie Slaughter
    of Georgia survives. Also, a son Harris Turner, and a daughter, Mrs.
    Walter Hill.
    The deceased had a genial personality and a large circle of friends who
    frequently enjoyed his hospitality at Crab Park.
    Funeral services will be held this afternoon from the residence with
    interment in the Baptist Cemetery.
    Three brother also survive, Judson Turner, of Bridgeton, Albert Turner,
    of Greewich, and Calvin Turner, Jr. of Canton.

    Frances E. Williams, (nee Turner), aged 85, of Alloway Township, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County, in Mannington.

    Born in Stow Creek, she was the daughter of the late Edmund H. and Phebe L. (Griffith) Turner.

    Mrs. Williams was a homemaker, living in Salem County most of her life. She loved to travel and was an avid collector of knickknacks. Above all, she loved her family and was proud of her children, her grandchildren, and her great-granddaughter.

    Mrs. Williams is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert S. and Sharon L. Williams, of Bridgeton; her daughters and sons-in-law, Carole N. and Charles Knight, of Florrisant, Mo., Paulette D. and Nicholas Coppola, of Belleville, N.J., and Valerie A. and David Henderson, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; her grandchildren, Laura Knight and Eric Knight, of Florrisant, Mo., Renee Coppola and Coletta Coppola, of Belleville, N.J., Nicole and Patrick Day, of Calif., Robert L. and Michelle Williams, of Alloway Township, Allison Williams, of Bridgeton, N.J., and Logan Henderson, Olivia Henderson, and Clara Henderson, of Egg Harbor Township; and her great-granddaughter, Samantha Williams, of Alloway Township.

    She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Lester S. Williams, in March of 2002.

    Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, at the H.T. Layton Funeral Home, 102 S. Main St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Canton Baptist Cemetery.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the H.T. Layton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, in Woodstown.
