Hanford one.

If you think that Stephen of Schoharie might be the
one I would suggest that you check the index for
probate records through the LDS family history center
and see if he left a record that hopefully would name
his children.

The problem is that after the Rev War and especially
in the early 1800's the younger generations started
joining different churches and we really don't have
too many records for those - mostly we have the
Lutheran and Reformed and some Episcopal and
Presbyterian.

I am wondering if he moved to PA with his parents
-young men usually (has been my experience) married
before they moved to another state, so if his wife was
born in PA maybe his family lived there also.

NoteI got this tip from a fellow Webb researcher. See the e-mail below. Note this family named Lyon has a son marry a Grace Webb. The name Stephen and Hanford both appear among these Lyons. Quite possibly a clue to our Hanford's family. The family was in Connecticut. I have suspected a connection to the Webbs of Connecticut since some of them were brass/stove moulders as were Hanford and Henry K.

I find the following statement:

Weston, Connecticut, August 16, 1759, died there in
his one hundred and first year. He was a revolutionary
soldier, having enlisted in Najah Bennet's company in
1781. He was received as a pensioner in Weston in
1832, and remained on the pension roll until his death
in 1860. He married. August 26, 1778, Sarah Treadwell.
His children nearly all lived to a good old age.
Children: David, born June 22, or January 29, 1779;
Samuel, August 27, 1780; Huldah, January 4, 1783;
Clarissa, August 11, 1785; Levi, September 14, 1788;

    The following is a transcription of two documents, pages 293, 294, 295 & 296, which are land transfers to John B. VanBuren from Henry B. Webb for about 100 acres total and Thomas Stilwell for about 97 acres, filed in February of 1830. I have all most two years experience in reading these types of documents and have transcribed this to the best of my ability. Each line contains exactly the same words as the document. There are no corrections additions or deletions. When I could not make out a word, blank lines and a question mark have been inserted. Those words were mainly part of the legal wording, some of which in my opinion are not real words at all. Submitted by Angeles Oakes

Katherine Emma Webb

F, b. 19 November 1911, d. 14 January 1968
Last Edited24 Feb 2008
Birth*19 November 1911Katherine Emma Webb was born on 19 November 1911 at 523 Richmond St., Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania.1
She was the daughter of William Henry Webb Sr. and Catharine Emma McDaniels
Marriage*5 May 1928Katherine Emma Webb married Robert Lewis Howey Jr., son of Robert Lewis Howey Sr. and Lucinda Williams Harris, on 5 May 1928 at Elkton, Cecil Co., Maryland; A letter written to the clerk of the circuit court in Elkton, MD was returned with no finding. Note states #1168 "1928" Unfortunately this book is missing and we are unable to find the license.2
Marriagecirca 1948Katherine Emma Webb married Thomas Callen, son of Thomas Callen and Mary (?), circa 1948; may have never married.
Death*14 January 1968Katherine Emma Webb died on 14 January 1968 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at age 56.
Married NameHer married name was Callen.
Name Variation19 November 1911 As of 19 November 1911, Katherine Emma Webb was also known as Katharine Webb.3
Adoption*circa 1916She was adopted circa 1916 at Greenwich, Cumberland Co., New Jersey.4
Name Variation12 February 1920 As of 12 February 1920, Katherine Emma Webb was also known as Catherine Applegate Note by RTH 26 Jun 2007 Mom (Elizabeth H. Howey) called this afternoon. She spoke with Aunt Dot (Dorothy L. Howey Jaggers) by phone today. Aunt Dot said Grandmom Howey (her mother) told her that the Applegates raised her after her mother's death were not related to the family. The man's name was David Applegate and Aunt Dot's mother wanted Dorothy to name her first child David however Joe Molino wanted his son named Joseph. Presumably this is why Joey Molino's middle name is David. This story corroborates the information I found in the 1920 census of a Catherine Applegate, age 11, living in the home of David and Katherine (Reynolds) Applegate on Marlborough St. in Fishtown near where she lived after birth.5,6
Married Name5 May 1928 As of 5 May 1928,her married name was Howey.
