John ROBINSON was born 22 July 1771 on the voyage from Ireland to America. He married Jane STEWART on 3 April 1800. James G. ROBINSON born 1806 is the only known child. Census records for 1850,60,70 state he was born in NY. Civil War record says Delaware. A guess is that it is possibly Delaware Co. NY. James married Elizabeth SWINGLE on 15 Feb 1830.
James served in the Civil War as Private in the 84th Regiment, Company I, PA Volunteers. He enlisted 31 March 1864 at Easton, PA. He transferred to Company K, 57th Regiment on 13 January 1865. Height 5 ft. 9 in., Eyes grey, Hair grey, Complexion dark. He did not serve long as he had a severe case of rheumatism & was discharged 3 July 1865. He later applied for a pension which was denied. His son Jack also applied after his death for pension monies to compensate for his care. It was also denied. James died 3 September 1883 & is buried at East Canaan Cemetery, South Canaan, Wayne Co. PA.
