The farmed in Crescent Township, Iroquois County, Illinois until 1913 when they moved to Goodland, Indiana. In the summer of 1916 Adrin "Eugene" went to Clark County, Wisconsin to "spy out the land." The family story states that a Mr. Owen went to Indiana to recruit families to move to that area, wanting good workers.
