Thelma Grace Taylor, 84, of Lapeer, formerly of Pontiac, died Sunday (Jan. 21, 2001).
She was born Feb. 2, 1916 in Oxford to Albert and Ethel (Saliard) LaFountain.
She worked for Ternes Packaging Co. in Dearborn and Monroe for over 26 years. She was an active member of the Teamsters Local 247. She enjoyed leisure time at the Lapeer Senior Center.
She is survived by her children, Murray (Alice) McCray of Orion, Ila (David) Miller of Lapeer, and Larry (Judy) McCray of Arizona; 18 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Fay LaFountain of Rochester, Olney Jay LaFountain of Toledo, Ohio, Beverly Bates of Alpena; step-sisters RuthAnn Derry and Jackie Farmer both of Grayling.
She waw preceded in death by her husbands, Loren "Buster" McCray and Earl Bailey Sr; and her parents, Albert and Ethel LaFountain.
Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice Service, Lapeer. Funeral services were Tuesday (Jan. 23, 2001) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Todd Smith officated. Burial was in Dryden Cemetery, Dryden. Arrangements by Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
