ELKHART--Verne L. Griffith Jr., 72,of Carol Street, Buchanan, Mich., died at 11:50 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 13, 2001) at Lakeland Hospital in Niles.
He was born on March 22, 1928, in Elkhart to Verne L. and Barbara S. (Bailey) Griffith Sr.
Survivors include his father; three daughters, Jann Ross, Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Fletcher Jr. and Mrs. David (Marlene)Wenger; all of Elkhart; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola where the service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Robert Lambert of the Restoration Springs Tabernacle in Elkhart will officate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Griffith was a construction plumber and was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 166 for 35 years. He retired in 1988. He enjoyed music, reading and served with the Merchant Marine.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association of Northern Indiana.
