I am attempting to find new info on my Coughlin family tree. What I know is: Jeremiah Coughlan was born in Ireland (probably Co. Cork but not sure), date unknown. He married Ellen Daly on Aug. 17, 1844 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cork City, Ireland. The Reverend Michael B. O'Shay married them. Witnesses were Cornelius Daly (probably a cousin or a brother) and Mary Collins.

Ellen was born in 1825 (exact date and place unknown). She died Jan.13, 1878 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. They had 2 children-David S., born Aug.15, 1848 in Cork, Ireland (I have lots of info on him) and Jeremiah Raymond, born Jan. 1853 in Liverpool, England ( whom I also have lots of info on).

Jeremiah Sr. was a sea captain and died at sea, date and place unknown. Ellen and the 2 boys and possibly her brother John sailed to America, date unknown. They lived in Chicago for awhile, during which the boys received their education. The 1870 census for Webster Co., Iowa lists David as age 21 and Jeremiah as age 17. From that point on, I am doing pretty well.

You can see lots of unknowns in this plea for help. I have gained tons of helpful information via these lists and want you all to know how genereous you are with your time and energy. You are greatly appreciated. Hope some wise and all knowing person can help me out. Thank you for your time.
