Anne Mary Tennant was born on December 26, 1868 in Canada-Ontario-Dublin.
She resided Sweet Grass in 1913 in USA-Montana-Sweet Grass. She died on March
30, 1953 in USA-Montana-Shelby and was buried in 1953 in Canada-Alberta-Coutts.
She was married to Patrick Henry "Pat" Buckley (son of J Buckley and Annie
Quill) in November 1898 in USA-Dakota-North-Grand Forks.
Patrick Henry "Pat" Buckley was born on March 12, 1859 in Ireland-Cork. He died
on December 18, 1938 in USA-Montana-Sweet Grass and was buried in December 1938
in Canada-Alberta-Coutts.

Pat Buckley, Pioneer Border Stockman, passes at Sweet Grass
Coutts, Dec 19 - Death last evening claimed one of the border country's pioneer
farmers and ranchers in the person of Patrick Henry "Pat" Buckley. He passed
away in Sweet Grass where he had resided for the last few months.
"Pat" Buckley was born in County Cork, Ireland on March 12 1859, the son of J.
Buckley and Annie Quill. In 1877 he moved to the United States, working on a
Massachussets farm before going to California in 1882. A few years later he came
to Montana, being one of the first settlers in the border region.
Associating himself with the late J E Fitzpatrick, Mr Buckley farmed near Sweet
Grass, raising sheep and cattle extensively. With his partner he built the first
border habitation- a stone hut near Sweet Grass. He was active in his farming
and ranching until two years ago when ill-health forced his retirement.
Deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs P. H. Buckley of Sweet grass. Two
daughters and three sons recide in Sweet Grass and a daughter in Shelby. (Mrs E.
V. Tennant of Lethbridge is a sister.- this is not right)
Burial at Coutts
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 am from Coutts Roman Catholic Church
with interment in the family plot in Coutts Catholic cemetery.
Mr Buckley was interested in oil development on the border and figured in the
opening of the border-Red Coulee field. He was the owner of the famous Blarney
Castle Dome west of Sweet Grass which saw some of the early development. He was
known to many in Lethbridge and other points in Southern Alberta, having visited
there on numbers of occasions. He was one of a noted group of border cattlemen
of the old school which include the late Walter Ross. He settled on land in the
Sweet Grass area in 1879. A part of the Blackfoot reservation until 1908, when
the reservation boundries were redefined.

One of Toole county's most beloved pioneer residents passed away in Great Falls
about midnight Friday night.
John Joseph Buckley was born March 19 1900 in Great Falls. He spent his early
life on the famed Buckley ranch in northern Toole county. Attended school in
Sweetgrass and Commercial College in Great Falls and Oakland, Calif. He started
work for the First International Bank in Sweetgrass in 1917, later working in
early-day banks in Kevin and Devon and later the First State Bank in Shelby.
In 1940 he was elected county trasure of Toole county and in 1944 opened a real
estate office in Shelby, dealing in stocks, bonds and insurance and also dealing
in oil leasing.
A few years ago he sold his real estate office and insurance to Dick Seubert and
devoted all his time to oil leasing, stocks and bonds.
Besides being active in various civic organizations, he was a member of the
Elks, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce for many years and also secretary of
the Shelby Airport Commision for several years.
Johnny lived in a period when Northern Montana was as wild as any part of the U.
S. His stories of the early days of sheepherders and cattlemen, the bootleggers
who used to ply their trade from Canada to the US, the Dempsey-Gibbons fight and
his numerous trips throughout the country were always interesting and
fasinating. He always had a good story to tell.
For the past several years he wrote a column "Quotes and Quibs" in the Times,
using the pen name of Ley Buck. It was widely read.
John always looked forward to his winter trips to Los Vegas and was planning on
going south again after the holiday.
He entered the hospital here about two months ago for treatment for a cold. He
was released, but returned in a few weeks for additional treatment. After three
weeks he was taken to Great Falls and was there two weeks before he passed away.
Death was attributed to cancer.
Fr. John Pritzl performed mass yesterday morning in St. William Catholic Church
at 10 a m. Rosary was recited at 7.30 p m Monday. Burial was in Mountainview
cemetery.

Mike Buckley and Pete Jaquemart Jr.

USA-Montana-Great Falls. Peter Joseph Jacquemart was born on July 18, 1899 in
USA-Minnisota-Foley. He died on July 26, 1980 in USA-Montana-Toole. Mary Margret
Buckley and Peter Joseph Jacquemart had the following children:

1902 in USA-Montana-Great Falls. She died on April 13, 1985.
She was married to Adolph William "Butch" Boetcher on June 27, 1922 in

Adolp, Eleanor Boetcher, married 60 years.
Mr & Mrs Adolph "Butch" Boetcher of Great Falls recently observed their 60th
wedding anniversary.
They renewed their marriage vows in a Mass celebration by the Rev. David Dwyer
in St. Joseph's Catholic Church preceding a buffet dinner for a family and
friends in the Sea Grotto.
Boetcher began work as an inspector with U.S. Customs department in 1920 at
Sweet Grass. There he met Eleanor "Nellie" Buckley. They were married June 27
1922 on the Blarney Castle Ranch.
Boetcher served in various capacities with U.S. Customs department Peskan,
Opheim and Sweet Grass, finally moving to Great Falls in 1940. In 1956 he was
promoted to assistant collector and held that position until his retirement in
1961.
He is past master and 50.year member of North Border Masonic Lodge in Opheim, a
member of the Eagles Lodge and a 25-year member of Great Falls B.P.O.E. Lodge
214.
The couple has two sons, William of Moultrie, Ga and Norman in Great Falls, who
were among guests as were two grandchildren

He died on October 12, 1984 in USA-Montana-Great Falls. He was buried on October

The Buckleys have enjoyed a lifelong friendship with the Blackfoot people. For
many years the Buckley family spent the summer months on the reservation where
they leased grazing land from the Blackfoot Tribe.

in USA-Montana-Havre. Dorothy G Aman was born in 1903 in USA-Ill-Chicago. She
died on May 14, 1997 in USA-Montana-Toole. She was also known as Princess Mink
