Irish Genealogical Project
The Irish Genealogical project was country wide project to computerise genealogical sources, much of the work was carried out by young people on Government employment schemes.
The public are not allowed access to the material and are required to pay for research to be carried out on their behalf.
The whole project was ill conceived and has made little contribution to genealogical research in Ireland.
Unless otherwise indicated, these centres hold indexes of parish registers for the whole of their county. Some hold indexes of other genealogical sources.
It is hoped that some day the material they hold will be placed in local repositories to which the public will have open and free access.
